2nd FI-WARE open call launched!

The 2nd FI-WARE open call has been launched with a deadline for proposals submission is November 7th. 

The FI-WARE project has reserved a portion of the project budget to fund specific tasks to be carried out by a new beneficiary or beneficiaries which will join the consortium after start of the project. These later-joining beneficiaries are selected by means of a series of competitive Open Calls. Each FI-WARE Open Call is focused on a number of topics.

The topics covered in this second call are:

  • Advanced Web-based User Interface GEs
  • Stream-oriented GEs
  • Cloud Proxy Extended Development and Management Platform GE
Three Open Calls have been planned with a total grant devoted to all of them of 12,3 M€ (Million Euros).  Aprox. 2 M€ have been already assigned as a result of the already published and closed FI-WARE 1st Open Call.  The upper limit of funding for the three topics in the Second Open Call will be 6 Million €, of which a maximum of 2,75 Million € will be devoted to the Advanced Web-based User Interface topic, a maximum of 2,25 Million € will be devoted to the Stream-oriented topic and a maximum of 1 Million € will be devoted to the Cloud Proxy Extended Development and Management Platform topic. The rest of the grant will be assigned to the third Open Call.

OUTSMART Annual Report

OUTSMART is pleased to announce the publication of the Annual Report describing how the visions for smart cities are to be realised through the Internet of the Future.

The report gives an overview of the activities of the project during the past year, and brings interviews with cluster leaders and stakeholders.

The five clusters have been engaged in:

  • Contributing to improving the infrastructure of European cities
  • Developing collaborations across private and public organisations
  • Developing business models for public-private partnership

EIT ICT Labs and FI-PPP signing Memorandum of Collaboration on 21 June 2012

Building stronger synergies between research, innovation and education in European ICT

An agreement bringing together EIT ICT Labs of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology and the EU’s Future Internet Public-Private Partnership (FI-PPP) will be signed on 21 June in the presence of Neelie Kroes, European Commission Vice-President for Digital Agenda, and Androulla Vassiliou, Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth.

FI-PPP Road show: Brussels kick-off

CONCORD has the pleasure to invite you to the Future Internet Public-Private Partnership (FI-PPP)  Programme road show kick-off held in Brussels on Tuesday the 19th of June 2012.

This event will introduce the FI-PPP Programme and the various opportunities for SMEs, cities, regions and venture capitalists to benefit from it. In the presence of European Commission officials and FI-PPP representatives there will also be room for a discussion with these different stakeholders on how to facilitate their potential engagement.

This is the first in a series of events which will be held in various locations across Europe during the course of the next 12 months, with the objective of reaching as many stakeholders as possible all over Europe, raising awareness of the programme and attracting Regions, cities, SMEs, venture capitalists and society in general to engage in the programme.

CONCORD, in collaboration with all the FI-PPP projects through the Dissemination WG, will shortly publish on this website a calendar of next FI-PPP roadshow stops.

FI-PPP Call 2 European Information Day in Aalborg (May 9th)

This open information day for call 2 (i.e. phase 2) of the Future Internet Public-Private Partnership (FI-PPP) aims to provide all information potential proposers need to prepare a proposal for the call 2. Phase 1 of the FI-PPP is ongoing today and consists of a set of projects which prepare the architectural ground work for the large scale trials called for in phase 2 (i.e. call 2).

FI-WARE will deliver a novel service infrastructure, building upon elements (called Generic Enablers – GEs) which offer reusable and commonly shared functions making it easier to develop Future Internet Applications in multiple sectors. This infrastructure will bring significant and quantifiable improvements in the performance, reliability and production costs linked to Internet Applications – building a true foundation for the Future Internet.

FI-WARE is the cornerstone of the Future Internet PPP (FI-PPP) program, a joint action by European Industry and the European Commission.
