FI-PPP Workshop on Policy and Business Challenges of Future Internet Services

On 21st November 2013, the Future Internet PPP will hold a Workshop on “Policy and Business Challenges in Realising Internet Services of the Future”. The main goal of the workshop is to bring together the relevant stakeholders from industry, policy, intermediary organisations and research to identify policy and business conditions for achieving societal and business success of the Future Internet PPP program.

The workshop will cover two central themes of high relevance in relation to the FI-PPPs impact and success, which will be approached from both a policy and a business perspective:

  • Business ecosystem development and SME engagement for the FI-PPPs impact and success.
  • Open business models and open access policies for exploitation of the FI-PPPs assets.

Each theme will be scoped in more detail. Barriers, challenges, possible solutions and recommendations to overcome problems will be identified. Both long-term actions, e.g. in regard to business innovation, legal, regulatory, societal, and technical conditions, and short-term pragmatic, best-practice actions will be considered.

Workshop participation is via invitation only. The workshop is organised by the FI-PPP working groups on Policy, Regulation and Governance (PRG) and Exploitation and Business Modeling (EBM).
