Future Internet Award opened

FI-WARE Open Call published

The FI-WARE project has reserved a portion of the project budget to fund specific tasks to be carried out by a new beneficiary or beneficiaries which will join the consortium after start of the project. These later-joining beneficiaries are selected by means of a series of competitive Open Calls. Read more

Defining Innovation

The European Foundation for Innovation (EFI) organised their annual workshop in Rome on November 30-December 2. This year’s topic was “Defining Innovation”. Petra Turkama from CONCORD participated in the event as a panelist on ‘Knowledge and Technology transfer’. The panel addressed the topic from both industry and academic viewpoints, and discussed various means to ensure that the research results and knowledge is effectively transferred to practical use by companies. Petra presented FI PPP as an example of a new initiative where a new process for the transfer is explored. The presentation created a lot of interest from the audience, and discussions will be continued in the coming events.

FIA Book 2012 Call for Papers

As with prior Spring Future Internet Assemblies (FIA), the community is editing a book in light of the next FIA in Aalborg, Denmark in May 2012. Editor in charge will be Federico Alvarez from INFINITY, accompanied by amongst others Petra Turkama and Ana García from CONCORD and Georgios Tselentis from the European Commission. Read more

When Infrastructure meets the user – FIA session

The session held in Poznan, Poland on October 26th 2011, aimed at the identification of common assets and priorities of different Future Internet communities to support the way RDI projects can grow into sustainable businesses, was introduced by representatives of three different Future Internet communities (Dr. Petra Turkama, CONCORD project coordinator, Future Internet PPP, Mr. Jarmo Eskelinen ENoLL Vice-chair representing the Living Labs community and Mr. Cezary Mazurek representing the eHealth community).
